HEART OF NEW BEGINNINGS

Hope, structure, and a path forward

Heart of New Beginnings is an Albuquerque-based recovery support organization serving men and women seeking sobriety, stability, and independent living.

Our structured 10-month program supports accountability, healthy routines, life skills, employment readiness, and community reintegration. We maintain separate supportive residential houses for men and women.

Our approach

A respectful, supportive, judgment-free environment that encourages personal responsibility and lasting recovery.

OUR STORY

Built With Love, Guided by Purpose

Our family believes that it is never too late to start over.

How It All Started

After nearly 20 years working in the medical field, caring for older adults, individuals with Alzheimer’s and memory loss, children, and people in rehabilitation, helping others has always been part of my life. When I moved from Texas to Albuquerque, I noticed how many people were struggling with homelessness and addiction. My husband, who was already living here, and I saw many wonderful recovery programs, but we also noticed that some people struggled after graduation without the continued support, skills, or plan they needed. We wanted to help change that.

We Do Things With Our Clients

We created Heart of New Beginnings to help people prepare for life after treatment, not just during recovery. We guide clients as they learn how to shop for groceries on a budget, cook delicious and affordable meals, manage money, socialize, and handle daily responsibilities. We do not want to do everything for our clients. We want to do things with them so they can build confidence and learn to do things on their own.

Opportunities for a Lasting Future

Our goal is not just to help someone find any job, but to help them explore a path that could become a long-term career. We support GED goals, employment readiness, and exploration of skilled trades and union programs. A high school diploma or GED is required for the trade opportunities we help clients explore. Opportunities depend on eligibility and availability; placement is not guaranteed. We want clients to grow toward financial stability and, when possible, less reliance on public assistance.

Where We Hope to Go

Our family has always believed in helping others with love, patience, and compassion. I may have changed careers, but my purpose has not changed. Today, I help in a different way: supporting people as they work toward recovery, housing stability, independence, and a new future. As Heart of New Beginnings grows, we hope to build stronger community partnerships and open more doors for the people we serve. We believe it is never too late to start over.

“We do not do everything for our clients. We do things with them.”
